Are there tours I can take to see the museum and battlefields once I arrive in YYpres?
I researched WWI battlefield tours from Ypres for an upcoming trip, and I was able to find quite a few. There are options for half day tours, full day tours, and even multiple day tours. I got the most hits when I used "Flander Field Tours" as keywords for my search. I noticed that the Ypres tourism website included a list of tours as well.
Due to an itinerary change, we had to rework our plans, and we will be spending time at the Atlantic Works Museum instead. I did see some posts on this forum and a few trip reports that refererred to Ypres-based battlefield tours. Perhaps someone else can chime in with more information.
A tour is not needed to visit the In Flanders Fields Museum. You can do it on your own and it is first rate.
We did a great tour with Lest We Forget Tours but unfortunately Chris and Milena have retired. As the previous poster suggested a google search will give you other options.
While in Ypres be sure to attend the Last Post
at the Menin Gate. It is not to be missed.
