Which hotel in Brussels

I'm having a really hard time selecting a hotel in Brussels for some reason. Reviews seem to be pretty mixed. Visiting mid June, 2 adults and a teen for 2 nights. Planning to see Brussels and then do a day trip to Aachen before heading to Amsterdam.

My current list is:

  1. The Liman Hotel (Rue Royale 199, 1210 Brussels) - just opened so not a ton of reviews but the reviews I've found are all good. They also offer a room with either 3 twins or 2 kings which is ideal for us.

  2. nhow Brussels Bloom (Rue Royale - Koningsstraat 250 1210 Brussels) - seems to be right up the road from The Liman. We would need 2 rooms here as we are trying to avoid a sleeper sofa.

  3. Hotel des Galeries (Rue des Bouchers, 38 1000 - Bruxelles) - we would also need 3 rooms

  4. Made in Louise (Rue Veydt 40, Brussels, Brussel, 1050) - further away and we also need 2 rooms

If you have stayed at any of these please let me know your thoughts! Thank you!

I have not stayed at any of these but I would ditch the first two based on location - I don't like the area around Botanique metro. Hotel des Galeries is a really interesting location (in the Galeries Royales de St. Hubert), but the rooms seem a bit sparse. However you almost can't get more central than this hotel, you have all the shops and restaurants literally at your feet. The last one might be further away but the Louise district is a very nice district to stay in, with elegant shopping, safe and there is a metro station there and trams - from Louise catch the metro to De Brouckère or Gare Centrale to be in the centre of things. Louise is its own little microcosm and if you want to be near the Wed afternoon/ evening market at Place du Châtelain (very fashionable for an apéro and then on to dinner at a nearby restaurant) or the Museum Horta you are in the right place.

Thank you! That is very helpful. Is it safe to walk or take public transportation from the Louise area? We are also looking at Hotel Harmon which seems to be in the same general area.

Yes, I think Louise is pretty safe although take the normal precautions at night that you would at home (awareness, etc). The only thing I will say is that there is a bit of homelessness in / around the metro there, and it's confronting to see but I don't think it's dangerous. Nothing you would not see in other bigger cities.

For restaurants in that area there is a restaurant street at Rue Jourdan / Rue Jean Stas, and a few restaurants in the Châtelain district.
