Week stay in and near Brussels

Hey everyone, I’ll be heading to Belgium in September, arriving at Midi station on Eurostar from London. I’ll be staying for a week and am trying to figure out a good area to stay at. After the week, I’m heading to Paris most likely on Ouibus leaving from Midi station. This will be my second full week in Belgium. I’ve already stayed in Antwerp, Brugge, Ghent and Poperinge. I’m planning on spending most of this trip around Brussels and nearby towns seeking out lambic.

I plan on getting to places by train, bus and walking. I'm thinking about visiting places like Beersel, Dworp, Lennik and I might do the Bruegel walk one day. I also might do a day trip to Mechelen or Leuven.

I’m considering easyHotel near Grand Place which is about 60 euros a night. I’m also wondering if areas like Marolles, Saint-Gilles or Ixelles would be good choices? If so, any recommendations in any of those areas? I could budget for more than 60 a night, but I'm simple and don't need an amazing hotel to be happy.

Thanks in advance.

The EasyHotel is in the middle of the shopping district, not hugely close to Grand Place.

Marolles, Saint Gilles and Ixelles are all good, but check the area by StreetView and don't get anywhere too far away from a tram stop.

I think you'll struggle to find much at 60 euros per night, though.

Thanks, you're right. There's a budget place or two on the cheap side and not much else, but I won't be in the hotel much so wouldn't be opposed to them. On the other hand, I'm considering airbnb so that will give me a lot more options. I'll keep an eye for places close to tram stops.
