Traveling Brussels to Haarlem by train

We will be traveling by train from Brussels to Haarlem Netherlands at the end of June. Do I need to book the train tickets now? I know that Eurostar may fill up but I am looking at a Eurocity Direct train as it is much cheaper and only 20 mins longer (and maybe a transfer?). Should I buy now or can I buy the day before?

Yes, take the EC train from Brussels Midi at 44 past the hour. It also stops at Brussels Centraal and Brussels Nord if those stations are closer to your lodging. You change trains at Rotterdam Centraal to get to Haarlem.

Sam,
OP asks for ECD, not EC.

Yes, for ECD also buy your ticket now. You can buy the day before (as there is no seat reservation) but il will be more expensive.

(Make a dummy booking for tomorrow to see the price difference).

Just know ECD can only be taken at Brussels-Midi (no stops at Central, nor Nord).
