I would read some of the state department safety concerns about Belize prior to choosing to travel there.

Yeah, February is actually a great time to go. It’s during the dry season, so you’ll mostly get sunny days, warm weather, and not much rain—basically ideal if you’re going for beaches and outdoor stuff.
I went around that time and split my trip between the mainland and Ambergris Caye (San Pedro). San Pedro was probably my favorite part—really laid-back, good food, and easy to get around. Just a heads up, you’ll end up using a golf cart pretty much everywhere on the island. We rented from Aviz Golf Cart Rental and it made things super easy since they delivered it and we didn’t have to deal with anything.
If you’re into snorkeling or diving, February is perfect for that too—the water was really clear when I went. Overall, hard to go wrong with that timing.
