My daughter and I are planning a trip to Belgium in September. We're flying to Amsterdam and plan to take the train to Brugges. I've done a bit of research and it looks like we can take a Eurocity train from Schiphol to Brugges, going through Brussels. Do we need to purchase train tickets in advance?

You don’t need to buy the tix in advance. However, there are discounts available for train travel in both countries that might save you some money on tix, particularly in Belgium. www.Seat61.com has details if you search for Belgium.

You also do not need to pass through Brussels. Use www.b-europe.com to look up schedules and tickets.. Fastest route goes through Antwerpen and Gent.
