Train from Brugge to Brussels

I am thinking I can just go to the train station and by a commuter ticket to Brussels?

I booked ahead from Brussels to Paris as there is a cost savings by doing that,

But from Brugge to Brussels I should be ok just going to the train station?

What train station would I end up in in Brussels?

thanks you

Yes, these are just IC trains that don't need reservations or have advance purchase discounts. Most trains will call at Brussels Midi and several other Brussels stations, often continuing onto other cities in Belgium. If you use www.bahn.com to view the schedules (can't buy tickets, though), click on the "show details" button, then click on the train number and you will see the full schedule of that train with all the stations and times listed.

Brugge is a staffed station, with actual people behind the windows selling tickets, but if there is a queue there are machines too.

Very easy to get tickets from that station, just allow a couple of minutes. You will want to leave the train at Brussel Zuid/Bruxelles Midi for the train to Paris. Allow enough time to clear security prior to boarding the Thalys.

That's correct: just buy a ticket at the station. If that's convenient, you can buy it the day before. Tickets are valid on any train going to Brussels. This train planner of the Belgian railways gives you also the price.
Keep in mind that Brugge is Flemish and Bruxelles-Midi will be shown as »Brussel-Zuid«. At your destination you'll see alternatingly signs for »Bruxelles-Midi« and »Brussel-Zuid«.
