Train from Amsterdam to Bruge

My husband and I will be traveling from Amsterdam to Bruge via the train. Is the best and easiest way to do this is to take the train to Brussels and then take a train from Brussels to Bruge?
I saw another route but it involved transferring two times, with five minutes in between one of the trains. It seemed a little risky since we may not find the right platform in time.

Simplest is indeed to take the train to Brussel Midi/Zuid and there change for Brugge.
From Amsterdam to Brussel you have the choice between the high-speed Thalys and the slower Intercity Brussel. Advantage of the latter is that your ticket is valid on all Intercity trains that day (as is for the train from Brussel to Brugge), giving you flexibility.
You can buy the tickets for both trains with the NS, the Dutch railways.

Thought the same thing last year when we went from Amsterdam to Bruges, but it is relatively easy and well-marked.
We took Thalys from Amsterdam to Antwerp, then changed trains for Bruges.
Thalys requires reservations, the Belgian Rail does not.
Once you get to Antwerp, you can take any train heading to Bruges
and can take your time changing platforms.

The Antwerp station is very impressive and worth the look -see.
Have fun!
