We'll be arriving from Milan about 8 pm. I've seen advice to take the train to Brussels Noord and then a train to Ghent, but when I search on the Belgium Train site I don't see that routing, although I do see trains to other Brussels stations. What's the best way to go? Thanks in advance for advice.

There are direct trains at 8:24 pm and 9:24 pm. Otherwise there are trains with connections at Brussels Nord at 8:30 pm and 8:57 pm. Both of these routes are also available for connection at Brussels Centraal and Brussels Midi, so SNCB might be showing connections at those stations, but Nord is the first station you come to from the airport. Your choice really.
