The "must do" items are well cover in guide books. Check a couple out from your local library.

Hi Bertaloha, welcome to the RS forums. I see you’ve asked 2 questions so far, both about Amsterdam and you’ve posted both in the forum about Belgium. Amsterdam is not in Belgium. Amsterdam is the capital of the country called The Netherlands.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, because I mean this in the best way possible, but I suggest you to get a guidebook about Amsterdam/the Netherlands or search online for information. After reading up, don’t hesitate to come back to this forum to ask more specific information. Different people have different interests, so there is no 1 size fits all answer to what the best things to do are.

If you decide to visit the Anne Frank House, you must reserve your tour time as soon as the tickets become available. We had to set our alarm for the middle of the night in order be online to purchase ours. They sell out quickly.

Aloha from Hawaii...
So sorry Dutch Traveler! I have never used these forums before and have no clue how I ended up "in Belgium"! Of course I know where Amsterdam is...after all I was there in the early 70's! Ha Ha.
I will now get on the Netherlands Forum. Thank you!

And also great hint about booking the Anne Frank House as soon as tickets go on sale, Travel Bug. Do you know how soon before your dates they go on sale?

Bertaloha, thanks for coming back. The RSforum doesn’t randomly post questions on random forums. So this post and your other one about the train were placed in the Belgium forum, because you selected the forum about Belgium.
To readers of this forum, who don’t know you and who don’t know you’ve been to Amsterdam in the 70’s, it seems like you don’t even know where Amsterdam is. The fact that you’re a first time poster doesn’t help either. Which is why you received the somewhat curt replies to pick up a guidebook or look online.

This forum can be a tremendous help, but you have to help us help you. The more general your question, the more general the answers. The more details about yourself, your interests, the time of year you travel etc etc etc, the more detailed the answers will be.
So when you repost your question on the forum about the Netherlands, make sure to include some info about yourself. No need to share personal data, just share what you’re interested in. What are your likes/dislikes? When exactly will you visit? Etc etc.

@bertaloha...From the official website: https://www.annefrank.org/en/museum/tickets/choose-your-ticket/

Tickets for the Anne Frank House are only for sale through this website! Every Tuesday at 10am CEST, all tickets become available for a visit six weeks later. If there are no more tickets available on the selected date, we are sold out. There is no waiting list for tickets.
Beware: There are many invalid tickets offered online. There are also commercial parties that offer Anne Frank House tours. These tours do not include access to the Anne Frank House

Our favorite things to do in Amsterdam were taking a canal cruise, seeing the Anne Frank House, visiting the Van Gogh Museum and the Rikjsmuseum, and going to the flower market on the Singel Canal. Walking along the Prinsengracht Canal and the Keisergracht Canal and also seeing the bridges lit up at night is lovely.
