We have Thalys tickets to travel from Midi (Zuid) Station to Cologne Germany on a Sunday morning in September. We will need to get to Midi Station from Central Station (staying at Ibis off Grand Palace). Would our Thalys tickets be valid for use to get from Central Station TO Midi Station that morning? Thx
I would doubt it. It is only a 2.10 EUR ticket you can buy out of a vending machine, or at the KIOSK window in Gare Centrale. Looking at the Thalys site, if you specify departure from Centrale, the ticket costs 8 EUR more than the offer price from Midi. The IC trains go about every 3 minutes between stations and take 4 minutes.
Yes you can use the Thalys ticket to get to Midi. Thalys tickets are valid for all the stations within the Brussels "zone".
To echo Michael's advice, I tried to buy a ticket from Centraal to Midi and the ticket agent confirmed that I didn't need one, my Thalys ticket was valid.
All tickets, Thalys and otherwise, to and from Brussels are valid for the three downtown stations. In the case of Thalys, a change of trains is required. Travel must be by a railroad train, not the Metro. These are very frequent.
Thank you Tim, Zoe & Michael, I knew I could count on this forum for help :)
I had thought this was the case but wanted some confirmation. I also found a similar statement on Thalys website too.
Thx!
