We are landing in Brussels around 8am. Our destination is Maastricht, but before catching a train to the Netherlands, we wanted to visit the central square in Brussels for the first half of the day. We may have to forgo this opportunity if we cannot find a safe place to secure our luggage for our 10 day stay in Netherlands. Any suggestions? Also, is anyone familiar with the distance (time wise) from the Brussels airport to the central square? Thanks very much for any assistance! We land in Brussels July 1.
Trains from Brussels airport take 20 minutes; see train schedules. There are luggage lockers at Brussels Central Station. Did you mean that you plan to leave your bag for 10 days? Why not pack light and take it with you?
Hi Laura; Thanks..No we just wanted a safe place to store our luggage in Brussels for the day before we take a train to Maastricht, which is where we are staying. Did you mean the train from the airport to central square is 20 minutes? Tammy
The train ride to Brussel Centraal station from the airport is about 20 minutes (maybe less). It's about a 5 minute walk down hill from the station to the Grand Place/Grote Markt.
It's been 6 years (seems like 2), but back in June 2008 the central Brussells ,.
train station had a left luggage service, where an attendant took our suitcase and kept it in a secured room until we claimed it with our voucher the next day. You're free to lock your bag for extra security, of course. I don't recall the exact storage rate but know it was reasonable & our bag was safe. Perhaps lockers have replaced the left luggage room, or one is a better deal than the other depending on your quantity of luggage, but either way you can stash your bag(s) and walk around town unencumbered.
