Small hotels in Bruges

Staying for two nights in Bruges May 5-7, 2018. Want to be near center, prefer smaller hotel but easy on the stairs as one in party a little slower. Also a place that includes breakfast. Thank you!

We stayed at Huis Koning B&B. Outstanding hosts, room, and breakfast. Unfortunately, there is no elevator and the stairs are spiral. Two rooms are on the 1st floor (U.S.). It’s about a five minutes walk to the main Place with the town hall and belfry.

You will need a hotel with an elevator, as the stairs in places in Bruges (similar to cities in the Netherlands) can be more like ladders.

Unfortunately, I have no recommendations, as the place I stayed in (Dieltiens) was a lovely B&B - with very steep stairs and no elevator.

Another vote for Huis Konig! Beautiful B&B with charming hosts who will ensure that you have a memorable stay.

We stayed at Speelmansrei B & B which has only 2 rooms on "first" floor, but there is a tiny elevator. The location is ideal. Just off the main square on a quiet street.

We loved Hotel Patritius, owned by a friendly family, with a wonderful cooked-to-order breakfast and an elevator.

We stay at "Hotel Heritage - Relais & Chateaux" a couple years ago and we absolutely loved it. It was definitely more expensive than a lot of the other hotels in Bruges but not outrageous and still less expensive than most hotels we stayed throughout Europe. It has the feel of a 5 star luxury hotel, the people are so nice, its air conditioned, very clean, has an elevator, in-room IPAD's and turn down service. Definitely worth it.

Second the recommendation for Hotel Patritius! Lovely place with a garden and a reading room!

Sorry if this is way too late, but just returned from Belgium. We stayed at Hotel Patritius and it was wonderful. The hotel has an elevator and the rooms are very comfy and spacious. The owners definitely care about their hotel and it is reflected in your stay. It also includes all you need for a "get-up- and-go" breakfast. Location is slightly north of the city center and definitely in walking distance to all the sights. This was a Rick Steve's recommendation and we highly endorse it. Safe travels.
