If you are considering staying at the Rick Steves recommended Huis Sint-Andriescruyse in Bruges, you need to be aware that a room “with bath” means exactly that – i.e., you get a typically claustrophobic European shower stall, but you do not get a toilet. The W.C. is out in the hallway and serves all the guest rooms. Make sure you pack your robe and your patience.
That said, owner Luc is as attentive and pleasant a host as one could possibly hope for, and the breakfast is excellent. His one canalside room is spacious and sunny, and the view is the very essence of romantic Bruges.
