Hi- we are going to spend just a couple of days in Brussels. In walking around are there some public restrooms whether or not we have to pay for the service as we had to in Southern Italy? Don’t always want to have to go into an establishment and buy something in order to use the restroom. Thanks.
As my hotel was very near the Gran Place, I didn’t need one. But i’m Certain there is one in the train station, department stores, maybe a grocery store like Carrefour, fast food restaurants, and possibly the town hall or tourist office. If all else fails, walk into a hotel and ask at the desk. We’ve never been turned away.
I looked at Google maps and I only saw one water closet near the Bourse de Bruxelles.
Thanks for the quick response. Great advice.
If you're coming from Brussel Midi Station, all the restrooms I saw were paying, I believe they are about .50 euros or so.
We were there in April 2016. I really can’t remember but there is a TI in grand place. Possibly one there. Also there is a nice cafe there , we went there several times to warm up and got cocoa
