Prescriptions and supplements

I've seen comments that prescriptions and supplements/vitamins do not need to be in their original containers and I have seen comments that say they do. Many of these comments are from several years ago.

I will be traveling in the Benelux region, flying into Brussels and out of Amsterdam, and I really do not want to carry the individual bottles for the handful of prescriptions and supplements that I take. Can anyone speak to experiences with prescriptions and supplements during recent travels? Thank you in advance!!

Yes! I have traveled all over Europe for years and years and never had an issue with medication and vitamins in ziplock bags or mixed together in one bottle.

Consider storing copies/photos of your prescriptions on your phone or tablet in case you need to go to the doctor while you're on your trip. Sometimes medications are called different names in different countries. This is much less of an issue now with the internet.

Thank you! I am getting copies of prescriptions to take with me and due to your advice will now take pictures of the supplement labels just to be safe. I appreciate your experience and help!!

For most prescriptions I would say no. For narcotics or any highly regulated drug I would keep them in the original Rx bottle.

thank you. Luckily I won't be traveling with narcotics, but I expect they would be held to a different standard. Thank you for your response.

I traveled last month to Paris with my prescriptions in small ziplock bags where I placed the label from the bottles. I had no problems and it saved a lot of space in my luggage.
