Places to stay in Bruges

I was wondering if anyone has stayed in Rick Steves' recommended hotels/b&bs in Bruges? I am about to make reservations for next May and thought I'd get some input. Thanks,

We stayed at Huis Koning B&B and it was outstanding. Not one of Rick’s recommendations, but it was voted #1 B&B in Belgium, if I remember correctly, for 2018. It only has four rooms.

I don't know if he still lists it, but in 2002 I had a lovely stay at the B&B Diltiens. Recent reports on this forum indicate it's still nice. The only potential problem if that the stairs are relatively steep and there's no elevator.

Our RS tour in 2016 stayed at Adorn hotel. Had a good experience/time there. Free bikes and had washers

Really liked Setola B&B in 2016. Caveat there's only stairs, & the two rooms are two flights up. But our room with bathroom was spacious & great, & the small public area comfy with views over the rooftops & in earshot of gentle church bells. Excellent breakfasts, 24/7 kitchen privileges, GREAT hostess (Lut). Easy walk to the main square, quiet neighborhood, very good restaurant nearby (Gabrinus?).
I'd stay there again, if they're still same owner & RS-rec.

I agree with @Stewart&Vicki review of Setola B&B. We recently had a delightful 4 night stay there in June 2019. As long as you are okay with stairs, it is a very nice B&B.

We just got back from Brugge and stayed at Hotel Fevery. I highly recommend this place. Paul, the owner is so kind and helpful. He provides a really nice breakfast buffet included in the price. The hotel is about a mile north of the town center but Brugge has a free shuttle service that you can ride there from the center and also from the train station. Rooms are clean and modern looking. We stayed for 3 nights.

We had a wonderful stay last year in Hotel Navarra Brugge/Bruges.

I'd also agree with the Hotel Adornes where I also stayed on the RS Belgium and Holland tour. What I liked was the location - which is canalside. It's slightly outside of the busy area and an easy walk in the other direction to the canal with the windmills!

My single room was small, as is usual for singles but I did not look at any of my tour mates' rooms for comparison.

I also agree @Stewart&Vicki review of Setola B&B. We also had a delightful 4 night stay there in May 2018. As said long as you are okay with stairs. Lovely breakfast. Perfect location. My husband is tall though and had to watch his head a few times in the room.

Ditto on the Huis Koning recommendation. It’s an absolutely lovely and romantic place with gracious, friendly hosts and delicious breakfasts! I highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Crown Plaza, recommended in Rick’s guide at the time, and loved it.

Check out Hotel Casselbergh. Very nice hotel and reasonably priced. Easy walk to city center. Great breakfast included.

About six years ago we stayed at the Hotel Jan Brito. A little bit away from the center but a beautiful hotel with breakfast.

This post is 5 mos old and we haven’t gotten a response back from Patty. I’m gonna guess she’s already picked a hotel by now.
