We are doing an overnight in Bruges from Paris. What train line gets you to Bruges from Paris and where do you buy tickets? What gets you back? Is it better to book through each countries train line? Having trouble finding information for some reason. Also how far ahead can you purchase the tickets? Thank you.
Hi Meredith - check out my reply to your other post. Google "the man in seat 61" and book mark his website. It explains the blow-by blow of how to get from Paris to Bruges and back.
Bruges, Belgium or Bruges, France? https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/. You want to buy your ticket for Belgium ahead of time because the trains that take 2h 45m with one connection sell out.
There's no Bruges in France. Strictly speaking there is no Bruges in Belgium either as that place is called Brugge :-)
Best place to book both outward and return trip would be with www.b-europe.com. The international sales outlet of the Belgian Railways. The French Railways' website has issues with tickets to places you cannot reach by direct train from Paris (as those places obviously do not exist...)
I can’t find anything on this site http://www.b-europe.com/ regarding Paris to Brugge or Brussells.
When you go to www.b-europe.com the first page you get has a search form that you can fill in, with origin, destination and date and time. What you can do with that form ought to be pretty obvious. Just enter "Paris" as origin, and "Brugge" as destination, and you will get times and prices.
Actuallly I see that since a few days SNCF has fixed their booking site, and they can book through tickets to Belgium again. So you can book this with SNCF, following the golden rule of "book with the railway of the country where the trip starts".
