Our weekend in Brussels for a couple of over 60's

We travel from London to Brussels on Eurostar and our ticket only states destination Brussels midi.

I was hoping to carry onto Brussels gare central as our hotel is nearby.

Do you know whether we have to buy metro ticket or would this Eurostar ticket be valid for gare central.

The always trustworthy Man in Seat 61 is clear on this point: »Eurostar tickets to Brussels are automatically valid on any local train to Brussels Central [...]«.

Yes, your ticket is good for a transfer to Central Station/Gare Centrale. You can board any train, just make sure it's going in the right direction. When I made this transfer, I took the train headed to the airport, since I knew it stopped at Gare Centrale first, and it leaves Midi frequently.

This railplanner gives the schedule for the connections. By clicking on »Show details« you get the final destination of the train, which is the main one shown on the electronic boards.
