Hi. My first post here, so be kind....
In July, I am in Brugge for 3 nights (Tue-Thur) and thought I should stay in Brussels Friday night before my flight from BRU on Saturday at noon.
Where should I stay (is just me, don't need anything fancy, prefer B&B)? What should I do that one afternoon/evening in Brussels?

I stayed in Brussels for a few daus in January, unfortunately I can't recommend the hotel I used. Aside from great food and wonderful, helpful people, Brussels has a couple of interesting museums in the upper town, the UN area, and some great architecture. a boat trip through the canals gives you a different perspective.
If you say what you are interested in, you will get better responses.

If you are by yourself and want a B&B I would recommend Hotel Noga www.nogahotel.com
For your afternoon and evening I would focus on visiting The Grand Place, if you have time and want to go to a museum I would recommend Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belguim and then for fun I would walk by the Manneken-Pis. If you arrive earlier from Brugge you can add more but I would start with the above.
Zoe & Jenn - Thanks....of course, I once I really dove into it (Google, TripAdvisor, Maps) I quickly found a reasonable B&B near the Grand Place...which is also near so many other worthy things (Cathedral Sts Michael/Gudula, Brussels Park, Mont des Arts, shops, pubs, chocolate...)....so I think I'm set!
