Inexpensive Family Room in Bruges with Breakfast

Hi All,
We are a family of 4 traveling with our kids next summer (they will be 13 & 15 years old). Does anyone know of a B&B with a family room or 2 rooms that offers breakfast and might NOT be on one of those many booking sites? I don't mind contacting the owners directly.

Thanks in advance.

So folks can make relevant suggestions, you really should define "inexpensive" numerically.

to put that into local terms, you're looking for two rooms and breakfast for a total of €129 - €170 total per night or €65 - €85 per room. I'd call that inexpensive. I don't know anywhere that cheap in Bruges. Sorry.

Your financial plans may not be realistic for a high-end destination that has tremendous demand almost year-round. I think it's even a honeymoon destination, it's considered such a romantic place. I personally would not try for that price range, but you might have more success in a "college town" like Leuven or maybe even Gent. Are you aware that it is entirely practical (if not as "romantic an experience") to visit Bruges as a daytrip from the nearby cities, by unreserved, very frequent trains? There is also a large range of housing in Antwerp, but I hesitate to recommend it for you because there might be some really low-end places there (?) Antwerp is a much bigger city than the places named so far. BTW, also know that the beautiful medieval cores of all these places are surrounded by banal, low-rise, modern cities.

taking an idea of Tim's there is a Campanile south of Gent (Ghent) about 40 km from Bruges, for a random date in late August including breakfast they are about €95 per room, one adult and one child in each of two rooms. That's as cheap as I can get, and that when adding in transport will bust your budget.

There are two hostels in Bruges in the RS guidebook - looks like one has closed. But the other one is open - they may have private rooms or dorms with bath where you could book the entire dorm. Appear to be in your price range.

Check out Hotel Patritius - they have a Quadruple room and it includes breakfast. I stayed there in April and it's a nice location on a quiet street with very friendly staff. The price may be more than you'd like though - it's €288 per night for the quad room on a random night in August. Honestly, for a family room, this doesn't seem like a terrible price.

Years ago we stayed at B&B Dieltens (now named Amaryllis Dieltens and looks to be a different couple running it), but it was in a great location and the included breakfast was amazing. I couldn't find prices on their website, but you could email them. They don't have a quad room, so you'd need to get two separate rooms.

Good luck!
