I am going to be based in Brussels for a week this September. my trip is a little last minute and I have never been so I am looking for ideas on where to go and what to see to get started as I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I like the idea of taking the train to Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp and spending a whole day in each place and then heading back to my base in Brussels.
I love chocolate. I would love to see St. Bravo's Cathedral and the altarpiece. I like the idea of an architectural or historical city tour. I love old, mysterious and magical places that have fun nooks and crannies of creative energy. I like natural settings and botanical gardens/arboretums and I love natural springs and water. I do not enjoy beer, heavily touristed, loud, or overly modern unless it has to do with good fresh farm food like rabbit and butter and herbs. I like cafes in central squares to people watch and write in a journal. And I do love places that will be easy for me to navigate as it was been a long while since I have been on any trains or buses and I am a solo female traveling. If what I list prompts any ideas from anyone I would love to hear about it and look into the suggestions.
Thank you
