Icelandair to Brussels

I am scheduled to fly Icelandair to Brussels from Seattle via Reykjavik in about 4 weeks. I just called the airline to find out whether they know anything about their flights to Brussels and whether I should be thinking about changing my booking.

The agent said they expect to resume their flight schedule to Brussels in the next couple of days, and in four weeks they expect things to be relatively normal in terms of their flights. If there was a need for a change, he assured me I would hear from the airline, and they would get me there one way or another. It seems they have been flying passengers to Amsterdam and putting them on the train to Brussels.

Even though this is the response I expected, it was reassuring to talk to someone at the airline and hear this for myself. Just wanted to share In case anyone else is in a similar situation.

The Icelandair website currently says that tomorrow (April 7) flights will be as scheduled, though I'm sure things could change from one day to the next.

I think they're generally pretty helpful and your conversation with them makes me feel reassured that they're on top of things. Thank you for sharing with us.

Lane,

I got basically the same info from United. But my concern is they have no timeline and resuming their flights. I would probably get an email 2 or 3 days prior to my departure date. My plan B and C is to fly into Amsterdam or Paris and take the train down to Brussels. I will be on the RS tour in about 2 1/2 weeks. Planned on being in Brussels three days prior to our starting point in Ghent. I already have a PAID hotel reservations in Brussels. I am concerned that it does not give me enough time to change flights for seats & extra leg room that I already have paid for. Tossing around as to whether or not to go ahead and see it United will redirect us thru Amsterdam. Haven't made a decision yet.
