Help with itinerary

Hello. I need fresh eyes on my itinerary, please. Travel date end of March. I have a ‘free’ day I need to fill. Also wondering if my current Itinerary is the best option. We are not art lovers. We do love WWII history, historical sites, churches, food and architecture.

Monday: land 10am in Brussels. Train to Bruges. 3 nights Bruges
Tuesday: explore Bruges
Wednesday: day trip to Ghent
Thursday: meet family in afternoon in Brussels
Friday: family in Brussels
Saturday: family in Brussels
Sunday: brunch with family then rent car to drive to Bastogne. See 101 airborne museum which closes at 5pm and doesn’t open until Wednesday.
Monday: private Battle of Bulge tour until 1pm. Afternoon open so thoughts on what to see/do? Should we drive to Luxembourg for night?
Tuesday: need suggestions. Night at Brussels airport
Wednesday: fly home

After Bastogne, you could visit both the picturesque Ardennes town of Bouillon, with its castle overlooking the riverside town, and also Sedan—the site of a pivotal 1940 battle just over the border in France. Both towns are less than a one-hour drive from Bastogne.
Central Brussels is only a 15-minute train ride from Brussels Centraal train station to Brussels’ Airport. So, no need to stay at an airport hotel. Stay near the Grand Place instead, and enjoy another night in the city.

It does seem a shame to miss Luxembourg when you are so close, and you have a car. Often I tell people to skip Luxembourg if they don't have a car, because the train journey is a long one (the train stops even at smaller stations) and it is not exactly a day trip. But maybe you can stay the night in Luxembourg on the Monday, do a quick visit of the city including the very picturesque valley (there is a lift to take you back up to the top) and the casemates, and then head back to a hotel in say Leuven or Brussels. Brussels is close to Zaventem Airport so you lose nothing by staying there in a nice hotel for the night.
