I have done research and it looks like the airport bus doesn’t go close enough to my accommodation in Etterbeek. We will have luggage so we don’t want to suffer bringing luggage up and down subway stairs. Are taxi drivers in Brussels trustworthy not to rip people off?? What other airport pick up services should I consider?

Sam, do you mean just walk to the taxi stand/line when we arrive? The link lists different taxi companies. Should we make a taxi reservation? We have had really bad taxi rip off experiences in a few countries and don’t want to get ripped off in Brussels.

If you look at the site, you can either book a taxi in advance or use the official taxi line. Do what makes you feel comfortable.

Or you can take the bus to Luxemburg and a taxi from there.

Where in Etterbeek do you have to be? There are trains from the airport to Etterbeek every half hour.

Will be staying near Place Saint Pierre. From what I saw, the bus is a long walk from there?

Get the train from the Airport to Brussels Schuman station (frequent local service) then the Metro to Merode, then walk or take tram 81 to Place St-Pierre.

Thats why I mentioned that you can take a taxi the last bit. They should be easy to find both at Schumann and Luxembourg.
