Clothing for Belgium in July

My boyfriend and I are traveling to Belgium in July and we are wondering what we should pack for the wet climate. Particularly interested in types of shoes we should bring.

A pair of Sandals but also a pair of closed shoes.
2nd half of July is generally rainier than the first half.
Temperature in July may range from 17-35 degrees centigrade (not so warm and not so humid near the sea).
Take some light raincoat and should you experience a heavy rain, just run in a cafe to savour a beer with grey prawns or Chimay cheese.

General advise is to dress in layers. As Francoise already says a light raincoat will do, you can also buy a decent folding embrella if needed in one of the stores like HEMA for around €6. Get comfy shoes with you to walk the cobblestone streets.

Check the short term weather forecast before you leave. I've experienced some surprisingly chilly mornings during the summer in Belgium, but comfortable to not-so-comfortable warm temperatures are more common.

I am from Belgium and I can say that the weather is too unpredictable anyways.
In July it can still reach 10 degrees Celsius at night. Just bring clothes for all kind of weather.

Have fun in Belgium, it is a great country to visit and for sure go to Antwerp and Gent!

Good luck!
