Central Station and Brussels Airport

I use the Trainline app to get train tickets. There is a small fee but I find it incredibly useful and easy to use.
Central Station has entrances on different streets. All entrances seem to involve taking stairs to get the platforms. There up escalators were working, but not the down. I looked for an elevator and didn’t find one. Luckily, I have a light suitcase but it would have been difficult for me with a larger suitcase.

It was super easy to get from the train to the airport. You just get off the train and see the doors to the airport. From there, it would be easy if you know what you are doing. Take the elevator to the departures floor. I required trial and error. There is a large board that lists flights and departure times and gives a number that indicates what lines you go to if you are checking in. That was clear.
I had already checked in online but wanted to drop off my bag. There is a sign that actually is apparent but I didn’t see it for “bag drop”. You scan your boarding pass and get a tag. There is no backing to peel off like in the United States. You affix the tag to your suitcase and then take it to the place where you send off your luggage. There is a scanner that you hand hold to scan your baggage tag. There is a blue button to push to get the scanner to work.
Then you set off for the entrance to the gates, clearly marked.
I am taking a flight to another EU country. I wasn’t sure how long in advance to arrive so I chose two hours. That didn’t seem necessary but maybe it was an uncrowded time. It’s hard to know at an airport you are not familiar with.
Maybe everyone know this but I just figured this out. There is a red light when you are scanning a document that needs to match up with the bar code or relevant information on your document. Then it’s easy.
