My wife and I have some travel skills but need some advice on arriving late at CDG with children. We have 8 travel days and bring two pretty well behaved sons to Paris and Belgium. Our plane arrives at CDG 4:30pm. Should we make the trip to Bruges or stay in Paris that first night? We love Paris and know where to stay there. But, four days in Belgium is where I need advice.
CDG to Bruges is 3 hours minimum once you are you are are the transport of choice. ( https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Paris-CDG-Airport-CDG/Bruges)
Assuming you are arriving from the US, it is likely it will be 6:30 or so before you reach the airport doors.
My 'guess' is you would not get to Bruges until around 10PM. Then need to get to the lodging.
How well are your kids going to do after a day of flying?
Unless you kids are teens, I think EVERYONE would be happier with doing the travel to Bruges the next day
Oh ya. Wait for the next day. It’s always about the kids, when you travel with them. Doesn’t matter how good of a traveler there are. Find a good hotel in Paris, good food , good sleep and then start out fresh. Everyone happy.
