Looking for train options travelling from Brussels to munich

Things I am considering

worthwhile to purchase in advance(cost savings of buying early and locking in specific train or cost of buying that day?)

how far in advance can you buy the tickets Need to leave Brussels about 7am on a thursday

How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. The same site sells tickets for some of the more convenient train departures on that route, e.g. 6:25 with two connections. You will see both the advance-discount price (if available for your date, on sale from three months ahead, locks in date and time) and the full fare of about €170 per person (no reservation required).

Check out the DB Bahn website. Looks like if you can book far enough in advance there is a savings on a Europa-Spezial Belgien(?) ticket.

Hopefully Lee will see this post and respond. He is very knowledgeable about the train travel in Germany & the DB Bahn website.

You can book tickets on the DB website from 92 days (roughly three months) before you want to travel. I would suggest booking as close to that time as possible, as the cheapest tickets sell out fast.
