We will be traveling by train from London to Brussels train station. How easy is it to get around Brussels to use public transportation from the main train station to go to our hotel which isn’t right in the city center, but in the broader area.
Probably very easy, unless your hotel is in some industrial area far away.
Tell us the name of the hotel and we will check the options.
"in the broader area" doesn't help us know if it convenient or not.
If you are able to share then we can give precise answers
Just a heads-up that your train from London will probably terminate at the Brussels-Midi (Suid) station. You may need to jump on an additional train to get to Brussels-Centraal or possibly Brussels-Nord. You can use Google Maps at home to check on possible public transportation options - just enter your hotel name and the train station and click on directions. There is a lot of construction right around the Centraal station right now so you have to kind of wind your way around to get to the streets that lead more to the city center.
Hi rqsteele, the public transport system in Brussels is very good - you never have to go very far without being near a stop or station somewhere (buses, trams, metro, trains). As others have said, if you are coming from London you will arrive at Bruxelles-Midi / Brussel-Zuid (train terminus for the Eurostar), which is very well connected with the rest of the city. Just let us know and we can tell you how to get to your hotel. In the meantime, here is a guide to the buses, trams and metro: https://www.stib-mivb.be/home

One warning - in older information sources you may be told that your Eurostar ticket to Brussels Midi also includes onward travel to other railway stations in Brussels. This is no longer true so if you want to go to Brussels Centrale or Nord you will have to buy a new train ticket.
