Hello
On a posting from some nice soul, I read about a lace shop selling both finished lace items not far from the Novotel, City Center. She said she bought a nice lace fan for about 10 euros. However, I can't find that posting again to get the name of the shop. Did anyone else see that posting, but some strange quirk of luck? If so, can you tell me the name of the shop. The posting may or may not have been on Rick's website. I have been linking around to several others discussing Belgium.
I am interested in this also. I have read that very few Belgian lace stores sell lace goods that are actually made in Belgium. Any thought on this?
When I went looking for lace shops, I read most of the lace is produced overseas. There are still pieces made in Belgium, but they are very expensive.
Trip Advisor has a section on lace shops that may be helpful.
A lace fan that cost €10 will not be made Belgium.
Hopefully contacting the Fashion & Lace Museum (Mode & Kant / Mode & Dentelle Museum) in Brussels can help you further. In case you visit Bruges as well you can visit or contact the Lace Centre (Kantcentrum) near the Jeruzalem church there. http://www.fashionandlacemuseum.brussels/en and https://www.kantcentrum.eu/en/home
