I was reading in Rick’s book that when traveling to countries not in the Schengen-zone (what I’ve come to understand is the EU) you should arrive to the Brussels Airport (Zaventem) 3 hours before your flight.
This is what their website says:
We recommend arriving at least 2 hours prior to scheduled time of departure to allow time for any unforeseen circumstances.
Feedback
For flights outside the Schengen-zone, arriving 3 hours before the flight is advised.
We’re traveling to Edinburgh from Brussels in early May and I just wanted to get some insight if this is indeed needed. Seems excessive, but I know there was a terrorist attack there in 2016, and read it was related to tightened security measures after that.
Thank you all!
