We are planning on meeting up with our daughter on the last weekend in July in Bruges. Any suggestions for accomondations? I find that a few of the places in Rick Steves are booked. Have we waited too long? If so, alternatives?
Thank you so much.
Diane, we enjoyed the White Suite (2 bedrooms) in this B&B:

I booked it through booking.com:

I haven't checked availability.
I don't recall if this is an RS one but we stayed here.

It's about a 15 minute walk to the main square but quite charming.
We were pleased with the Hotel Academie, http://www.hotelacademie.be/en/. It is located between the railway station and the center of town.
You won't be able to move for the crowds in July.
Bruges is a very popular weekend getaway, so if you're not finding hotels or B&B's available when you check each one individually, look on Booking dot com or Hotels dot com to see a fuller list. Just check locations carefully to make sure they're really near the center, not in a "suburb."
In 2002, I had a lovely stay at the Dieltiens B&B; a more recent report on this Forum indicated it's still nice. They have both B&B rooms and a separate apartment, which should work well for you if it's still available for your dates: http://www.bedandbreakfastbruges.be/
We had a fabulous stay at Huis Koning last year. Lynn and Peter make you feel so at home; rooms are wonderful and the food is terrific. Would stay there again in a heartbeat! They book early, but occasionally there is a last minute cancellation.
