Benelux train pass

Does anyone have experience with the Benelux train pass? I'm thinking of the 4 day pass for our round trip from Amsterdam to Bruges and a couple of day trips.

Doing the math, I'd probably break even, or possibly save a little bit, but for me it seems the selling point is the convenience of a train pass that covers both countries so we can just hop on and off over the 4 days we'd need it.

Are you absolutely sure that the Benelux Pass works out cheaper? A return ticket from Bruges to Brussels for instance only costs €35. A day ticket like this allows you to take any train from Bruges to Brussels on that particular day. You’re even allowed to interrupt your journey along the way, in Ghent for instance.

If you’re 65 and older and willing to travel after the morning rush hour which ends at 9 am, you can train from Bruges to Brussels and back for as little as €8,50 total. This ticket also allows you to take any train you want, as long as it’s after 9 am on weekdays. During the weekend you can leave before 9 am.

Not 65 yet. When I'm on the Belgian train site I get a round-trip cost of €86 for a 10am train from Amsterdam to Bruges. Round-trip Bruges to Ghent is €16, Round-trip to Brussels from Bruges us €52. Total cost is €154. 4 day Benelux pass is €160.

A round trip from Bruges to Brussels should cost only €35 not €52. If you make this same journey on a weekend day, you only pay €18,80 total for a weekend ticket from Bruges to Brussels and back.

As for your train journey from Amsterdam to Bruges, I see cheaper options available on the official website of the Dutch national railway company NS, but it depends on when exactly you want to make this journey.
