Are masks required outdoors ? The forecast looks terrible, but is the rain generally intermittent or long lasting ?
Would you recommend a bike tour in Bruge to the countryside ? Thanks!

If it is impossible to keep outdoors the required social distance of 1,5m wearing a mask remains obligatory, so always have one with you.
Popular is cycling from Bruges to Damme, you can go further along the canal and do a little detour to Oostkerke. Continuing to Sluis is worth doing too, from there you can cycle via Terhofstede to Retranchement, follow the (white with red) signs for cyclists. In Sluis and Retranchement you can walk over the old ramparts, for the latter follow signs “Wallenroute”. Nature park “Het Zwin” is nearby, nice for cycling over the dyke and dunes to the North Sea and if you like even further east to Breskens. What attracts me there with good weather is the view of the Western Scheldt estuary seeing ships passing by. For longer distances you can consider renting an e-bike.
Weather forecast for next week predicts temperatures between 20 and 25 °C, variable weather with an occasional shower.
Depending on where you are staying in Bruges, ypur hotel may have loaner bikes.
