Belgium-Amsterdam trip end of June-early July, 2022

Greetings all:

We have a total of 11 days on a trip planned for Belgium and Amsterdam. So far, we plan to be in Belgium (4 days in Ghent, 2 in Brugge) then heading to Amsterdam & Netherlands. Curious if we should just head to Amsterdam and stay the last 5 nights there- using Amsterdam as our hub, or if we should plan a 2 night stop between Brugge and Amsterdam (we realize this would be require another room change but would consider this if other travelers have found interesting spots with good food, entertainment, sights, etc. Open to any/all suggestions.

Many thanks i advance!

Fred

Go to Amsterdam. There is not a lot between Brugge and Amsterdam that you could not see via day trips from Brugge. There are places to go but you don't have the time.

I stayed in Haarlem, a smaller town than Amsterdam and less hectic. It’s an easy 20 minute train ride to Amsterdam. Haarlem itself has lots to explore, Frans Hals Museum and the Corrie ten Boom house. Great restaurants and pleasant canal rides. We were there in late April and found it convenient to Keukenhof Gardens via bus.

consider Delft. A walkable town with pretty canals. Famous for Johannes Vermeer and Delft Blue ware. The Vermeer museum does not have original works but it is still an interesting place to learn about the artist. Beautiful churches and a nice market square.
