My dad was captured during the Battle of the Bulge. I will be headed to Vielsam to be in an event. I want to do a Bastogne tour and would like lodging and tour suggestions for a 2 day visit. I'm traveling solo so a small clean hotel is just fine. My French is limited but my German is decent, but English tours would be required. The smaller the better. Suggestions?

I can't help you with tour recommendations, but I stayed at Hotel Wagon Leo in the center of Bastogne a few years ago, and it was delightfully located and very clean. Ask about the discount for hotel guests in the adjacent restaurant. (https://www.wagon-leo.com/en/) By the way, the Bastogne Museum is excellent and relatively new, so it's worth a visit if you have the time.
My dad wasn't captured, but he was stationed between Bastogne and Brussels at an airfield that was a German objective. Fortunately the Panzers ran out of gas before getting there.
