Not familiar with Antwerp. We will be arriving by train on Friday 5/9 for only one night. Any hotel suggestions near train station (if safe area)? Or is it better to take transportation to a different area of the city? We arrive from Brussels and depart to Ghent on trains. Thank you, Judy S

You don’t want to stay in the sketchy area around Antwerp’s Centraal train station. You’ll be in the heart of Antwerp’s medieval center by taking Tram #9 from DIAMANT TRAM stop underneath Centraal Station where your train stops to GROENPLAATS TRAM stop near the the city’s massive cathedral— the Cathedral of Our Lady. It only takes ten minutes and you’ll be in the center of many of Antwerp’s attractions along with cafes, restaurants and pubs. Hotel O Kathedral and Antwerp Business Suites are both in this safe neighborhood.
