Lovely Hotel in Ieper (Ypres)--Ambrosia Hotel

We had a delightful surprise with the Ambrosia Hotel in Ieper (Ypres), Belgium, where we stopped to visit the Menin Gate and WWI sites in Flanders Fields. After a long day’s drive, we were warmly welcomed with chocolates and lots of helpful information by our gracious host and hotelier, Iwona. She and her husband Vincent have created a lovely boutique hotel—each of their 10 guest rooms is unique--in an historic setting on a cobblestone street just one block from the town plaza and Menin Gate. They have added extra outlets in the rooms to charge our electronic devices—a bonus! Home-made breakfast is included in their very reasonable room rate in a very pleasant and bright breakfast room. Iwona quickly cooked us eggs and bacon in addition to an extensive selection of cold breakfast items—and her kitchen off the breakfast room is modern and sleek. The hotel website is http://www.ambrosiahotel.be.

We would highly recommend this hotel and the town of Ieper—another pleasant surprise! We learned of the Hotel Ambrosia from the website for Salient Tours (http://www.salienttours.be), which we would also recommend.
