The best meal I had on my whole trip was at The Faculty Club, located near the parking lot area by Leuven's Beginhof, which is south of downtown and very lovely to stroll through. The Beguines' former living quarters are now owned by the University of Leuven, and the Faculty Club building is a University conference center, but it's also a restaurant for the general public. Reservations advisable, but I just walked in.
