Hotel Recommendations in Brussels

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel in Brussels>. My wife and I will be there in early June and we would like to stay near the historic center of town.

You might take a look at one of the hotels on the Agoraplein which is just steps away from the Grand Place. It's been years but I stayed in the Ibis here - basic hotel, very clean with nice staff. We did not go for the hotel breakfast and instead walked to Galeries Saint-Hubert to the Le Pain Quotidien for a meal. This is just steps away from the Centraal train station as well. Besides the Ibis there is a Novotel, both belonging to the Accor brand of hotels. If these interest you I'd sign up for their newsletter to see if you can get some kind of deal, then book via their app. There is also a NH brand of hotel and a Hilton around the corner.

Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert - a covered shopping arcade built in 1846-47.

We also stayed at the Ibis as we we’re just there 2 nights and wanted something close to the square and train station. It suited our needs for location, value and cleanliness.

We also stayed at an Ibis in Brussels, the Ibis Off Grande Place. It was a great location, was clean and the breakfast was good. The rooms are “cozy”, but it was fine. It is on a small square with restaurants and near the Galleries Saint- Hubert. (The chocolate at Mary’s there was the best we had in Belgium, in my opinion.)
The train station was about a 5 minute walk.
We hired a guide from Tours by Locals, Natalie, who showed us around the historic center, then the upper town, then the European Parliament area. We worked with her to get what we wanted, and it was excellent.
