Three of us are traveling in August to Amsterdam. I have tried most of the suggested hotels and B&Bs in Rick's 2015 Best of Europe book but have found many are already booked for our dates. Can anyone suggest others to try that are quiet with good beds and close to City Center (main attractions)? Any help is so appreciated!

Boogaards B&B! Check them out on TripAdvisor and on his website. The BEST B&B we have ever stayed at in both the USA & Europe. We spent 4 nights there. The owner, Peeter, lived in Manhattan years ago, sang Opera - and relocated to Amsterdam after the 9/11 tragedy. He was so helpful - provided us with amazing maps of the area, taught us how to use the transportation system, recommended a wonderful canal tour & delicious restaurants. His B&B is clean, cozy, safe and he provides the most incredible breakfasts we have ever eaten each morning - all Dutch specialties. He also had home-made cakes, Dutch treats for us every evening.
