Hotel Le Legende Brussels

Hi,
I am currently staying at Hotel Le Legende in Brussels.

This is a boutique hotel recommended in the RS Belgium book. Not sure what has exactly happened over the last year since the RS book was published in 2025, but I feel this hotel has gone down hill and neglected. But, I will start with the positives:

Great location to Grand Place and other sites like Manneken pis
Spacious room
Spacious bathroom
Safe area/location
Lots of shops and places to eat
Good bed
Large windows
Elevator
Good hot and cold water
Good mirrors
Good space to hang clothes
Good number of towels

Needs improvement:

No AC. Not mentioned in the RS book and even on Booking.com (My bad). I was provided a floor fan which helps.
Shower head leaks and taped with electrical tape though still squirted out. Floor was really wet.
Curtains are old and worn
No more bar and no more restaurant, therefore no ice if wanted or to eat at the hotel.
Coffee machine in lobby (pay machine) broken and sounded like no intention to fix it.

People at front desk are nice but look like they don't want to be there. Maybe it's due to the heat.
Room desk is beat up.

I was very tempted to check out early and find a new hotel but I am sticking it out. I paid over 150 euro a night and I feel it was not a good spend on my part.
I feel that with a little TLC this place could be restored to its former glory and worthy of being a RS recomnended hotel. Right now, it is not.

Thanks for posting. Sorry you are having a poor experience. I probably would have checked out as you pondered but I understand sticking it out with a prepaid room.

I'd also suggest posting on the feedback form for the Belgium guidebook. Not sure if they can change anything before the newest guidebook comes out next March but still, it's a good idea to let them know what you found.

We have identified Hotel La Legende as a hotel to avoid, due to a lack of maintenance and multiple reports from guests of bedbugs.

It's interesting that the RS guidebook for Belgium does not have links you can click to read updates or post updates as other guidebooks do.
