Hotel Harmony in Ghent Belgium is Fantastic

Hotel Harmony was our first stop on the RS Belgium/Holland tour this past month. The staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, professional and easy to work with. The hotel itself was comfortable, charming and the beds were amazing and made it easy to have lovely dreams. We stayed an extra 2 nights prior to the tour start and are so glad we did. The location is perfect and I have nothing bad to say about Hotel Harmony. Any questions - I'm happy to answer.

This is definitely true! A great way to kick off the RS tour. So lovely to walk outside early in the morning to enjoy the quiet canal.
It's a great tour.

Thanks for the tip.

I am headed to Ghent in a few weeks, but just for a day trip. Wish I were staying overnight !

Are you going to do a trip report? Keen to see what the tour was like.

Yes, I hope to do a small trip report. There may be a few sentences about the tiny tummy bug that hit when we arrived back home. Currently dealing with that, unfortunately.

Sorry to hear about your tummy. We were once hit with a bug 2/3 of the way through a trip. Not fun, and we only started to feel well on the way home (we had a stopover in Hong Kong).

Get well soon!

I’m so glad you enjoyed Hotel Harmony!! I love they have chocolate candy on their breakfast buffet, lol!!

Darn on the bug…hope it goes away soon!

Thanks so much, adding it to my notes on Ghent. Was there an elevator (lift) in the hotel and did you like your room? Was there much street noise?

Hope you feel better soon!

I'll pipe in, Sandancisco, although it has been out of my price bracket since RS put it in the book several years ago.

Luckily I think I will be able to afford it this year.

We stayed several times when it was all family operating the hotel, and they could never do enough for everybody. The daughter spent time in London learning 5 star and 5+ star hospitality to bring back to Gent.

They were always fabulous, we stayed in Cosy and then all the other room types including the penthouse. Lovely rooms, even the Cosy is plenty big for 2 folks, we usually stayed in rooms at the front by choice. They have the road in front - never had any problem with road noise - and next to the road is the River Leie all lit up at night and views towards the centre of town. Very special.

Oh, and the breakfasts, previously mentioned upthread!

My wife didn't need a lift back when we used to stay there so I don't have a mental note about elevator/lift but I certainly don't remember not having one. The rooms do go off in various directions so there may be more than one.

Have to chime in to agree wholeheartedly! I stayed at Hotel Harmony in Ghent a couple years ago, and loved every moment. The breakfast every morning was absolutely wonderful. It was quite possibly one of my favorite hotel stays ever.
