Brussels Restaurant Suggestions

Staying at a hotel near Grand Place, we have reservations at Pre de Chez Nous for dinner one evening. Looking for breakfast and other dinner options. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We enjoyed the Arcadi Café at the Galeries Royales St. Hubert. I have it marked with a star in my notes. I had scampi with ginger and pasta, and DH had osso bucco.

Close to Grande Place, was Le Fiacre. I had moules frites and wine, and DH had the "menú" with good tomato soup, lamb chops, and beer.

Our tour group ate at Aux Armes de Bruxelles, Rue Boucher. That one I also have marked with a star. Chicken waterzooi, cheese croquettes, and salad.

I also have a star by Pizzeria Paninoteca Massimiliano, 24 Rue Ste Anne. I don't remember if Pizzeria is part of the name or not, but my notes say "Good, very cheap." We were there for lunch. Other lunches we had street food.

Once you're on the ground, as you're walking about each day and evening, keep your eyes open for restaurants. You can see which ones are busy, and sometimes you can discern whether it's a more local crowd or all tourists (if that's important too you). It helps to walk on some other streets than the main ones too or the ones with all the hotels. Sometimes I use Yelp, too. If the reviews are mostly written in the local language, then I take that as a good sign. It's an adventure!

We had one of our meals at Le Lombard on Lombard street. One of our local city guides recommended that restaurant. It had good food.
