We will be driving from the Zurich airport to Innsbruck on May 25, which is a State Holiday in Switzerland and Austria. The following are my major concerns.
Will this Holiday negatively affect the route? What is the quickest way to make this drive? Are there any construction issues along the route? What would be an acceptable alternative routing if the tunnel and highway is under construction work?l

I am unaware of any. Make sure you stop and get an Austrian vignette for the car at the Austrian border.
Assume you are returning to Switzerland to turn in the car to avoid international drop fee, which can be large.

Driving via A1, 516, Fastest rte, Toll rd, 3hr, 179.7miles. Via A3, A12, Crosses Border, 3hr,29min, 179miles. Via B12, B17a, Takes Ferry across Lake Constance, 4hr,7min, 196.1miles. I suspect that there might be more Holiday Makers on the Lake Constance route. Doesn't seem to be any construction today. Check in middle May!
