Hello,
My family (including my husband, three girls 6,8 and 12 and me) will be driving from Fussen to Salzburg on June 10. I originally planned to stop in Eibsee to go to Zugspitze but in researching ways to get to Salzburg, I am contemplating instead spending a few hours in Innsbruck and going to Nordkette. We have never been to Austria or Germany and I am trying to learn about it here and on other spots online. Can anyone give their opinion about what is the better side trip with this age group?
Thanks!!
I would vote for Innsbruck and the Nordkette. The view is breathtaking, if the weather is clear and sunny.
On your way to Salzburg you may stop in Wattens and visit the Crystal Worlds. Admittedly a very touristy spot, but worth seeing.

If the weather's good have your girls take their swimsuits and go to the Zugspitz. They can work on their tans at the peak (everybody does) and it's kind of neat to tell people you did it. Then you can go swim at the Olympic complex at the bottom of the hill after.
