I am looking for a nice clean hotel in Zell am See for next September that has a view and is close to lifts for hiking and shopping. Any advice is appreciated.
Maybe something along the Schmittenstraße. The lake itself and mountains around are worth the visit. You might be surprised of the immigrant and tourist influence in town. The view from Berggasthof Mitterberg is hard to beat. The hotel has been upgrading, but still somewhat basic. You probably need a car to get there. Good overall bus transport. In good weather the Strandbad Thumersbach is worth a visit too. You are not far from the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße. The Kitzsteinhorn is worth a visit too.

Zell am See is known to be a favorite destination for tourists from Middle East.

FWIW Zell Am See has its own strandbad too, called the Beach Club I think. It's not a bad one if you aren't up for the trip across the lake. But Strandbad Thumersbach does certainly look nice, and would make for a delightful swim stop on a bike ride around the lake.
My family stayed at Das Zellersee. Nice hotel. Not far from the lift and reasonably quiet part of town. We had a pretty good view from our balcony. Around 600USD all in for two rooms for two nights.
