we will bae travelling by auto to salzburg, then hallstat, then castlerotto in northern italy, then zell am see, does anyboy know of venues for traditional bavarian music , or yodelling music? thanks, nick from santa cruz
Well you know Bavarian Music would be Bayern, Germany (just saying). I would think maybe the local Austrian/Italian (Südtirol) Tourist Office in some of the places you are visiting would understand you in English when you ask for traditional folks music and yodelling (German Language, local dialect). Maybe a local Fest, Concert or Restaurant. If not free, you might have to buy concert tickets/make reservations months/weeks in advance for local theater or restaurant.
I saw a group of yodellers in Alpbach once, may have been a one-off show? Festivals and concerts are much more common in Switzerland, though some of the almabtrieb festivals in Bavaria and the Tyrol also have traditional music played and sung as part of the festivities.
