Wien Hauptbahnn

I'm struggling to locate the new Wien Hauptbahn on the map on my phone. I'm thinking it's just across the Weidner Gertel near the Favoriten.
Am I looking at the correct station??

Thanks Michael. That's much clearer than what I was looking at. I should have thought to try Google Maps instead of the website.
And it is at the location I expected which is great news for my arrival.

Hi,

If what you can get shows that it is near Arsenal, that's Wien Hbf. The U-Bahn stations near to Westbahnhof are Zieglergasse first , then Neubaugasse.

For better orientation in Vienna I recommend using the offical online city map:
http://www.wien.gv.at/stadtplan/en/ (also available as app for smartphones).

Not only you can search for addresses, points of interest, etc., but superimpose a vast amount of information by using the check marks in the legend on the left ("show on the map"), e.g. public transport, sights, art & leisure, city walks, culture, events, free WLAN hotspots (WiFi), etc.

Although it does not contain places of private enterprises, I think it is superior to Google Maps, especially the aerial pictures.

Yes, the Army Museum is close to the Arsenal. I thought the general map would indicate the location of the Arsenal rather than a specific museum. From Wien Hbf one can walk to the Army Museum, I've done it when all that surrounding construction was still going on, tedious trying to a straight way. From Wien Hbf it's about a 25 min walk.

The Arsenal is a former military complex from the 19th century consisting of a multitude of buildings which are numbered. The Army Museum is in one of them, i.e. in building 18. The main entrance to the Arsenal is at building 1.

The main train station (Wien Hbf) has been fully opened in December 2015, therefore no construction works block any access to streets or sidewalks anymore. If you want to walk to the Army Museum from there, it is a distance of .8 miles (1300 m), i.e. a walk of 15 minutes, given that you use right exit (i.e. on the south side) of the train station.

Alternatively you may use bus 69A to go to the Arsenal (north-west corner).
